1. Who we are

ANTE DATING APP LLC ("ANTE", "we", "us") runs the ANTE app, this website (alwaysante.com), and ANTE's events in Chicago. This policy explains what we collect, why, who it goes to, how long we keep it, and your choices. Questions: privacy@alwaysante.com.

2. What you give us in the app

When you sign up for and use the app:

• —Your Apple or Google sign-in: only the account ID Apple or Google gives us, to sign you in. We don't keep your email address or name from them.
• —Your mobile number: to check it's yours with a one-time code, to text you if you agree, and to show door staff its last four digits.
• —Your full name (first, middle if you give it, and last) and a preferred name if you give one: it's how ANTE and door staff address you. Other members see only your preferred name or your first name, never your last name.
• —Your birthdate: ANTE is for people 23 and over.
• —Your gender, who you want to meet, and the age bands you choose for Dinners: to show you the Dinners meant for you, and to choose who's invited to each one. Who you want to meet can reveal your sexual orientation, so we ask for your agreement to use it separately, and you can withdraw it.
• —Your photos, up to five, if you add them: to show you on the events you join (section 9). Each photo is checked automatically for nudity and other content our Terms don't allow. The check looks only for that content: it doesn't identify you, and doesn't measure or keep anything about your face.
• —Reports and blocks: who you report or block, the reason and any note, and reports others make about you, to keep members safe and blocked members apart.
• —Your choices, each kept with the exact words you were shown and when: the Terms, this policy, matching, texts, notifications, analytics, and photos at events.

3. What you give us on this website

When you join the waitlist, RSVP, or ask for a Dinner invitation on this website:

• —Your name and mobile number.
• —The event you RSVP'd to or asked to be invited to, and for a Dinner, the age ranges you'd like to dine with.
• —Your referral code, and any code you were referred by.
• —A record of your agreement to texts and of the photo and video acknowledgment: the exact wording shown, when you agreed, the page, and your IP address and browser, so we can prove the agreement.
• —Which pages are visited and where visitors came from, with a random session ID, never your name or number.

4. What we learn from how you use the app

From how you use the app:

• —Your events: RSVPs, Dinner requests, invitations, and whether you accepted, declined, cancelled or didn't show, to run events and choose future Dinner guests.
• —Your device: a random ID for this install, iOS or Android, the app's version, a push notification token, and whether you allowed notifications, to send the notifications you allowed.
• —Texts: the texts we send you, any replies, and whether each was delivered, to deliver texts, honour STOP and HELP, and answer you.
• —Analytics, only if you agree: which screens and features you use, to improve the app. We do this ourselves; no analytics company gets the data.

5. What we don't collect

We don't collect your face's measurements (no face recognition), your location, your contacts, advertising IDs, ID documents or payment details. Door staff look at your photo ID but don't record anything from it. The app doesn't store your IP address. Our hosting firewall uses it to block abuse, and keeps a small sample of requests, with their IP addresses, for 3 hours.

6. How we use it

We use what we collect only to run ANTE. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't sell it.

• —To run your account, the app, this website and ANTE's events.
• —To choose Dinner guests, from the age bands each member chose, who they want to meet, and their record of showing up: declines, cancellations and no-shows count against them, and referrals count a little in their favour. A founder reviews and approves every guest list before anyone is invited. That record is never shown to you or anyone else.
• —To text you and send notifications, as you've chosen.
• —To understand how many people sign up, and from where.
• —To keep ANTE safe: to enforce our Terms, stop abuse, and keep removed members from coming back.
• —To meet our legal duties.

8. Who processes your data for us

These companies act only on our instructions, and may not use your data for their own purposes. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety; and if ANTE is ever sold or merged, your data would go to the new owner under this policy.

• —Amazon Web Services, in the US: hosts the app's and this website's servers, database and photos, encrypted; checks photos for content our Terms don't allow (Amazon Rekognition); and sends our texts and verification codes, and checks that a number is a mobile (AWS End User Messaging, including Notify).
• —Apple and Google: sign-in, and push notifications.
• —Expo: builds the app and delivers its updates.
• —Cloudflare: checks that this website's forms are sent by people, not bots (Turnstile).

9. What other members see

Other members never see your birthdate, your number, your gender, who you're looking for, or who you've reported or blocked. In the app, they see your preferred name or your first name, and your photos, in two places only:

• —When you RSVP to a Social, every member who looks at that Social sees you in its "Who's going".
• —When you're invited to a Dinner, the other members invited to it see you once its invitations go out; after they accept, they see who's coming.
• —A member you've blocked sees you in neither. At an event's door, staff check your name on the guest list against your photo ID.

10. Your choices

You can change these at any time:

• —Texts: one choice covers all of ANTE's texts. Reply STOP to any ANTE text, or untick texts in the app.
• —Push notifications: turn off news about new events in the app, or all notifications in your phone's settings.
• —Analytics: off unless you turn it on in the app; you can turn it off again there.
• —Matching: you can withdraw your agreement to use your gender, who you want to meet and your age bands; you then can't be chosen for Dinners.
• —Photos at events: email ante@alwaysante.com and we'll take down an image of you.

11. How long we keep it

When you delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account), we straight away delete your number, birthdate, name, profile, photos, sign-ins, sessions, devices, analytics and the text of the messages we sent you from our live systems; if you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to disconnect ANTE from your Apple account. Copies in our backups are removed within 35 days, and our record of incoming texts, which can include your number, within 30 days. Some records are kept for a while after that, because the law requires them or they keep ANTE safe:

• —Proof of your text choices, and that you said STOP: at least 4 years after the last text we sent you. That a number said STOP is kept for good, so we never text it again.
• —Proof of your other choices: 4 years.
• —Reports about you, and our decisions on them: 12 months; for good if we removed you.
• —A one-way scrambled form of your Apple or Google ID, so a removed member can't sign up again: up to 12 months; for good if we removed you.
• —Your record of declines, cancellations and no-shows: 3 to 12 months, depending on the kind.
• —Your event history, with no name or number attached: until it can no longer be linked to anyone.
• —Who sat with whom at a Dinner: 30 days.
• —Raw analytics: 13 months. Daily totals, with no one in them, are kept.
• —A log of what our staff changed, without the values: 7 years.
• —What you gave us on this website: while you're on the waitlist, and for as long as needed to prove your agreement to texts. Email privacy@alwaysante.com and we'll delete it sooner.

12. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@alwaysante.com. We'll answer within 30 days. You can also delete your account yourself in the app.

13. Security

Your data is encrypted while it's stored and while it travels. Only the ANTE team can get to it, and only as their work needs. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

14. Age

ANTE is for adults 23 and over. If you tell us a birthdate under 23, we don't keep it, and we delete the account. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 23.

15. Where your data is

ANTE is run from the United States, and your data is stored in the United States.

16. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change applies, and post the new version here with a new date. Questions: privacy@alwaysante.com.
